Congratulations to Luke Pearson (Maxwell High School, Willows, CA) for being selected to receive a $2,500 TRADESTRONG-Cook Scholarship to pursue Welding at Butte College and become a Pipeline Welder!

"Dear sponsors,

I would like to sincerely thank you for awarding me this scholarship. It means so much to me, and I am truly grateful for your generosity and support. Receiving this scholarship gives me a great start as I take the next step toward my future, and it eases a significant part of the financial burden that comes with continuing my education.

I am pursuing a career in welding, and this scholarship will help me purchase the tools, equipment, and textbooks that are required for my classes. Having the right tools is essential for developing my skills and becoming successful in this trade, and your support makes it possible for me to focus more on learning and improving rather than worrying about the cost.

I am very dedicated to welding and committed to making the most of this opportunity. I began taking welding classes at Butte College last semester, and I enjoyed them so much that I have continued my education by taking classes every weekday throughout the summer. The hands-on experience and knowledge I have gained have strengthened my passion for the trade and confirmed that this is the career I want to pursue.
