Congratulations, Miya Crawford!

Congratulations to Miya Crawford (CE Byrd High School, Shreveport, LA) for being selected to receive a $2,500 TRADESTRONG-Landology Scholarship to pursue Diesel Technology at Atlanta Tech!

Miya shared the following personal statement with us:

Dear Tradestrong Sponsors,

Thank you so much for selecting me to receive a trade school scholarship. I am truly grateful for this opportunity and for your support as I take the next step toward my future in the automotive field.

My love for working on cars started from simply enjoying fixing things and figuring out how they work. In middle school, I began working on cars with my soccer coach, who became more than just a coach to me — he became a mentor. Through soccer, he helped teach me discipline, hard work, and commitment, and over time, he also helped introduce me to mechanics.

When I got to high school, I started taking technical courses in automotive, and that is when my passion really grew. Learning how to take apart engines and transmissions sparked something in me. I realized that the same focus and drive I had always put into soccer was starting to shift toward mechanics. I loved the challenge, the hands-on learning, and the feeling of understanding how something works and being able to fix it.

My goal is to one day own my own automotive shop. This scholarship is helping make that dream feel more possible. It gives me the opportunity to attend trade school without taking on as much financial debt, and that means so much to me and my future.

Thank you again for believing in me and investing in my education. I am excited to continue learning, growing, and working hard toward my goals.
